9-1-1 Information
The new E-911 system was installed in 2003 at a cost $125,000 and became Wireless Phase II compliant in 2005.
The E-911/Communications Director oversees the operation of the Center which typically answers in excess of 600 calls per day. In 2009, 17,326 emergency (9-1-1) calls were received and an additional 29,615 calls were actual calls for police or fire services.
The Communications Center operates on an annual E-911 budget of approximately $593,592.00 through E-911 user fees, with an additional $100,000 per year coming from the Sheriff’s budget.
